Oley F. Bowman

Oley F. Bowman, 91, of Berwick passed away on Wednesday January 28, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born at home in Benton on April 24, 1934, son of the late Oley B. “Oad” and Edith (Smith) Bowman.

His early life was spent in Fishing Creek Township, Columbia County. Oley went to Benton Area Schools before he joined the United States Air Force, where he retired after 25 years as a Master Sargent. He also retired from PP&L where he worked in security.

Oley is survived by his wife Jeanette Bowmn, three children; Linda Lex husband Dan, Judy Lynn, Richard Bowman, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. As well as three sisters; Drucilla Bancroft, Grace Swank, Eleanor Young, and brother Dean Bowman.

Oley was preceded in death by his parents as well as eight siblings; Ada Bowman, John Bowman Sr., David Bowman, Richard Bowman, Edward Bowman, Howard Bowman, George Bowman, and Carl Bowman.
