Lester “Chick” Hal Firth, Jr., 80 of Berwick passed away on January 25, 2026 unexpectedly at his home. He was born on October 15, 1945, in Liverpool, England, a son of the late Lester and Maisie (Edmondson) Firth.
He graduated from Berwick High School in 1965 and worked as a welder at the Berwick Forge and Fabricating and later in his career went to work for PP&L in the construction department, later rostering at Susquehanna Nuclear Plant in the maintenance department. He retired from there is 2012. Chick enjoyed going out to lunch, antiquing, and until recently his motorhome.
Lester survives by his daughter Leslee Rech and husband Kris of Berwick, grandchildren, Jessica Beamer and husband Brent of Berwick, Mackenize Firth of Berwick, Allison Giger and husband Austin of Bloomsburg, Dylan Firth of Berwick, and great-grandchildren, Myleigh, Kimahri, and Charlie. As well as brother Colin Firth and wife Valerie of Shickshinny, and two nephews; Colin Firth II. And Ryan Firth and families.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife Josephine (Koscielski) Firth, who he married December 31, 1966, his son Christopher Firth, and infant daughter Kelly Firth.
Family will receive friends Friday January 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 N. Market St., Berwick. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.
